Job Summary:

We have an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join a well established and rapidly expanding manufacturing company with a blue chip client base. Reporting directly in to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for: -

  • Co-ordination and validating of all weekly payroll information for submission to the outsource payroll department for 150 weekly paid employees
  • Production of payroll for subsidiary business
  • Purchase Ledger invoice processing
  • Production of purchase ledger payment schedule
  • Credit control
  • Cash book postings and reconciliation
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Balance Sheet reconciliation
  • Input to other financial requirements such as assisting the Financial Controller in analysis of Management Accounts for variations etc.

Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience:

  • An accounting qualification such as AAT is beneficial but not essential as a person Qualified by Experience will be considered equally
  • A newly qualified Accounting Graduate will be considered on merit
  • Enthusiasm, accountability, initiative and a positive attitude are all essential

Our client embarked on a focused strategic development of the private sector market in 2008 that has already produced significant results. Based on the success rate of the new marketing strategy, the company wishes to expand this further and the Business Development Manager will be an important part of the plan to achieve the company targets in the private sector. This particular market sector is currently being developed by the Sales Manager and the new incumbent will add value by: -

  • Supporting the Sales Manager and freeing his time to concentrate on developing strategic accounts and strategic growth in other vertical markets.
  • Developing new business with new clients
  • Increasing routes to market through design consultancies, architects and specifiers in addition to direct end users

Main purpose of the role

To generate revenue from major multi national accounts and achieve year on year targeted growth for the product range through pro-active new business development activities in the private sector, predominantly In catering, hotel and corporate banking and finance sectors.

New Business Development Responsibilities

  • Pro-actively identify and target new end-user business in the private sectors, with particular emphasis on the catering, hotel and corporate banking and finance sectors.
  • Specifically target companies with requirements for national multi-outlet operations and rolling refurbishment programmes.
  • Pro-actively identify and target new business opportunities through Architects and Specifiers and build relationships with key decision makers
  • Self-generate leads and sales opportunities through cold calling, attendance at exhibitions, marketing initiatives or any form of prospecting that is relevant to the business.
  • Follow up all leads provided by the company
  • Arrange and conduct business meetings with key decision makers.
  • Carry out presentations in a professional manner
  • Negotiate pricing from preliminary stage to final terms within standard guidelines.
  • Develop your new business territory to an agreed level by maintaining a high level of activity with regards to appointments made/presentations carried out/sales achieved.
  • Ensure cost effective management and organisation of territory
  • Develop good relationships with the Customer Service Team and assist them by providing client information and feedback to enable them to support and develop the customer experience
    Training and Development

The induction will include product training at Head Office and a site familiarisation to gain an overall insight to the business. Specific software or systems training will be provided as necessary.

The company has a growing reputation for developing unique groundbreaking applications in niche sectors of engineering and their bespoke products can be seen in airports, docksides, mining and general engineering environments all over the world. The product range includes motor driven cable reels, Panzerbelt cable protection systems, slip ring columns, rotating electrical connectors, radio remote control equipment, alternative power supply systems and a diverse range of solutions regarding the connection of power supplies in a huge array of applications and a knowledge of these areas will be extremely beneficial.

Our client wish to appoint an Internal Engineer with an electrical bias to join the sales office support function and duties will include: -

  • Responding to enquiries
  • Technical support in electrical systems to assist the client
  • Evaluating customer requirements to determine suitability for quoting
  • Sourcing supplies internally and externally
  • Producing quotations
  • Following up quotations and progressing to sale or liaising with sales engineers to assist in securing orders
  • Liaising with manufacturing and sales companies within the group including Italy, Germany, Sweden and Norway
  • Providing support to bolster the sales efforts and improve the bottom line as required


Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
